COMPRION the world’s only supplier of all EMVCo conformance tests for POS terminals

Mitteilung:

Due to the recently granted validation of the EMVCo 3.0 PCD digital tests on UT³ Platform, the latter has become the only tool worldwide for all terminal conformance tests at EMVCo Level 1. Thereby it is possible to run all contactless (analog and digital) and contact-based (electrical and protocol) tests that are necessary for type approval on a single hardware. This combination is only available from COMPRION. EMVCo test labs accredited for terminal approval as well as terminal manufacturers preparing an approval benefit from that because they need to buy and operate only one system.

„We are pleased that terminal manufacturers such as Lecip Arcontia AB and EMVCo labs like Elitt, France, could increase their ROI by using the recently validated PCD digital tests. Most EMVCo labs already use UT³ Platform because it is the only system for electrical terminal tests worldwide,” explains Dr. Michael Jahnich, Director Contactless Test Solutions at COMPRION.
POS terminals will become even more future-proof with the new version EMCVO 3.0, which is expected to be activated April 2019. With that, EMVCo further improves interoperability of mobile payments by smartphones and wearables.

COMPRION PCD Analog Test Solution Qualified for EMVCo 3.0

Shortest test execution times plus the reuse for EMVCo, NFC Forum and ISO testing set this solution apart

Test tool provider COMPRION is proud to announce that their EMVCo conformance test system for contactless POS terminals has received the Letter of Qualification for the new EMVCo version 3.0.

EMVCo PCD Analog Test Solution

The test solution consists of the UT³ Platform hardware and a robot, three new reference antennas requested by EMVCo as well as updated test procedures. With this qualified test solution, POS terminal manufacturers and EMVCo-accredited test labs can simulate the behavior of a smartphone or wearable even better so that their counterpart, the POS terminal, can be tested extensively and future-proof, to get the type approval for the payment market.

Shortest test execution times

“In order to receive approval for EMVCo 3.0, a POS terminal now has to pass more than 2,000 tests compared to around 600 before. Especially test labs are happy that the test duration with COMPRION has only increased by one third, although the test volume has more than tripled. An analog approval now takes less than four hours compared to three hours with the previous version,” explains Dr. Michael Jahnich, Development Director of Contactless Test Solutions.

COMPRION has won the SESAMES Award 2017 in the category “Manufacturing & Test” for Design Validation Center with Vector Field Probe. This is a new test solution for the validation of contactless interface design in the development phase of an NFC-based product. The award highlights COMPRION’s expertise in developing innovative solutions.

Hajo Sandschneider, Marketing Director, is pleased about this award, “We are proud to receive this award as it underpins our leading position in testing the contactless technology of the future. The integrated, unprecedented vector field measurement probe visualizes signal information in a completely new way. It helps to tune signal characteristics perfectly to the final operation conditions and the anticipated user behavior. This speeds up the development of NFC-based services enormously.”
